Wahab and Medenica continues its commitment to lecturing and providing expertise in an academic setting. 2005 saw W&M partners lecturing throughout the city and W&M partner Olivera Medenica continues that pace this year, lecturing at Brooklyn Law School.
LECTURING AT BROOKLYN LAW SCHOOL
We are proud to announce that WRM Partner Olivera Medenica was recently re-appointed a faculty member for Brooklyn Law School's International Legal Writing Program for the Spring 2006 semester. WRM maintains a high degree of professional excellence and welcomes opportunities to interact with legal academia to both expand its own expertise and work with new generations of attorneys.
LECTURING AT PACE
Olivera Medenica taught a ten week course on International Trade at the World Trade Institute at Pace University. Drawing on her experience at the Court of International Trade and her current practice through which she advises clients with import/export needs, she covered real world business trade law issues. The syllabus included the basics of international trade law, the international trade dispute system, and the particulars of importing and exporting goods to and from the Unites States.
LECTURING AT THE SCHOOL OF VISUAL ARTS
On November 13th, 2005, W&M's partner Olivera Medenica was a speaker at the School of Visual Arts, one of the nation’s premier art and design institutions. Her third time there, Olivera spoke on the basics of business and intellectual property law, and how each can significantly impact the other. We're pleased Olivera continues to provide her insights to young artists and businesspeople.
LECTURING AT MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC
On March 22nd, 2005, the Manhattan School of Music, one of the top music institutions in the world, hosted a forum on Copyright Law featuring W&M's partner Olivera Medenica. Olivera spoke on the importance of Copyright Law in the music industry - other panelists included legal counsel from Sony and Harry Fox. Olivera was pleased to provide her perspective as a music law and intellectual property law practioner to the student body and views lectures as a great method for educating the public about both areas.
LECTURING AT METROPOLITAN COLLEGE
W&M partner Kaiser Wahab was a featured speaker at Metropolitan College this April 26th during its Business of Creativity Media Conference program. Kaiser discussed the current issues of film finance and effective film counsel. Other issues discussed include the basis of effective intellectual property management, licensing and protection in developing a film project from inception to distribution as well as securities law and indie film production.
