Industrial Technology Assistance Coporation. ITAC combines education, consulting, training and research into a series of programs designed to support the growth of New York City technology and manufacturing firms. ITAC hosts workshops and provides consulting aimed at businesspeople interested in learning more about best practices in their industry.

The U.S. Business Advisor. The federal government's business portal designed to provide useful information in one convenient and accessible place.
U.S. Department of Commerce. The federal agency responsible for regulating commerce. It has many departments including the Minority Business Development Agency. The Department’s web site is generally a good research tool for other agencies.
Small Business Administration. An organization for and about the world of small business. This is a great starting point for the entrepreneur, with extensive primers and articles on a variety of topics, including financing.
U.S. Copyright Office. The primary location for copyright information on the web, including a comprehensive discussion of registration and the different types of work that are eligible for copyright protection.
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The main web site for the main intellectual property agency of the Federal government. It has searchable databases for registered trademarks and patents, as well as comprehensive information on how to file patents and trademarks. A great resource for the inventor, tech company or any business looking to protect their trade name.
Federal Citizen Information Center. A general information resource guide with many articles on a variety of business related topics.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The federal body in charge of securitie4s oversight. Site has news, federal rules and rulemaking procedures, small business information regarding the full gamut of offerings and more.
The Internal Revenue Service. The federal Tax Agency web site with a wealth of tax information , updates, circulars, explanations, etc. A must resource for any business regardless of size or industry.
LEGAL RESEARCH
FindLaw. One of the best free legal research web sites with articles and Q&A forums for nearly every area of the law.
Legal Information Institute. Cornell University School of Law's long standing and pre-eminent legal Web library, LII, has among other things one of the most complete and well organized copies of the Code of Federal Regulations.
The Law Review Project. The Coalition of Online Journals provides free full text search of online law journals (check the site for a list of included journals) and an e-mail notification of new articles
Virtual Law Library. University of Indiana School of Law's web based law library with a robust search engine.
AcqWeb. Appalachian State University's AcqWeb, is a long standing resource regarding various legal publishers.
The Law and Politics Internet Guide. A collection of annotated resources ranging from legal research to law school tools and CLE sites.
LexisONE. The free version of one of the world's most comprehensive and popular online legal databases. The site includes among other things, US supreme court (1790-present) cases, and a variety of federal and state court cases from 1996. Premium services are available with a fee.
LawGURU BBS. A collection of questions and answer forums for a variety of legal issues, as well as legal resource library.

California Lawyers for the Arts. California’s pro bono lawyers’ association for artists. It provides pro bono legal services, educational programs, and information to California’s artist community regardless of discipline.
New York Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. New York’s pro bono lawyers’ association for artists. VLA provides pro bono legal services, educational programs, and information to New York’s artist community regardless of discipline.
